Plants fix carbon and create their own food by photosynthesis. Photosynthesis uses carbon dioxide and water to produce sugars for growth releasing oxygen as a waste product.

Plants can grow up to 50 % faster in concentrations of 1,000 ppm CO2 when compared with ambient conditions.  Research has shown that elevated CO2 levels cause increased growth reflected in a 10-15% increase in yield.

The Evolution CO2 Controller controls the release of CO2 within the grow room and constantly adjusts the amount of C02 to maintain ideal conditions for optimal plant growth.  The controller connects to a CO2 release regulator (sold separately) along with your ventilation or cooling system to co-ordinate the release of CO2 with the extraction of air from your grow room.  The user programs the CO2 and extraction cycles to best suit the grow room conditions with the primary focus around leaving the ventilation off for as long as possible in order for your plants to absorb the CO2 before the temperature rises above 28-30oC.

At the start of the cycle, the controller will inject an initial larger dose to increase the CO2 up to the target concentration.  It will then inject a series of top-up doses to maintain the CO2 concentration until the extraction cycle starts to reduce the rising temperature.
